Trams aren't just excellent public transport in Budapest, but a nice way to get an overview of the city, the sightseeing of the best turist atractions for just the price of one single ticket, or be able go through unknown paths and end up in a nice forest... The tramcars themselves are of Hungarian design and date from 1967!
Los tramvias no son solo un buen medio de transporte en Budapest, también son una buena manera de tener una vision general de la ciudad, visitar los principales sitios turisticos por el precio de un billete sencillo, o de poder atravesar caminos desconocidos que te llevan hasta el medio de un bosque...el origen de los tamvias es húngaro, diseñados en 1967!
TRAM nº 47-49: Pest and Buda side
Sightseeing: Take the tram from Deák Ferenc square, after having a walk around Erszébet square, former bus station. On the left, pass Dohány street Synagogue (second biggest synagogue un the world), the Hungarian National Museum, crossing Kalvin square, and stopping in the Central Market hall (transfer tram nº2). Then, cross the Liberty Bridge until Szent Guellert square (transfer tram nº41).

TRAM nº 2: Pest side
Sightseeing: Take the tram from Jászai Mari Ter, near Margarit Bridge. Go across Kossuth Lajos square and see the Parliament and the former Palace of Justice (now Museum of Ethnography). Afterwards, to the right, the Chain Bridge (first one in Budapest) and views to Buda Side and the former Royal Palace. Pass the Elizabeth Bridge, until Március 15 square, good viewpoint to Gellert Hill. Recommended to vistit the Central Market Hall (transfer tram nº47-49), in Fóvám square. Then, pass on the left, Corvinus University, and on the right side, the University of Architecture BME, and other buildings of the campus. Now tram 4-6 cross above, along Petőfi Bridge, joining with Nagykörút (Outer Ring Road, tram 4-6). Go until the last stop, Közvágóhíd to see on the right the new National Theatre, the Palace of Arts and Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art.
