Four intensive days in Fort Monostor enjoying open-air concerts, theatrical performances, the screening of a large collection of films, workshops and music. It's a festival that, preserving their hungarian roots, every year call artists together all over the world. The most of the musicians come from Transilvania and Hungary, and they delight us with national music themes, the rithm of the gypsy music, and awesome experimental melodies fruits of pure improvisation! Cuatro días intensos en Fort Monostor de conciertos al aire libre, obras de teatro, la continua reproducción de una extensa colección de películas, workshops y música. Es un festival que, sin olvidar sus raices húngaras, reune anualmente artistas de todo el mundo. La gran mayoría de músicos proceden de Transilvania y Hungria, y nos deleitan con temas de música nacional, el ritmo de la música gitana, e increibles melodias experimentales fruto de pura improvisación! Vive de verde el gran día de los Irlandeses en Budapest!

Known worldwide for its colorful green and friendly atmosphere and for the amount of pints of Guiness, St. Patrick's day is a cultural and religious feast celebrated on March 17th. It's an Irish holiday, named after St. Patrick, a 5th century priest, founder of the Irish Church and patron saint of Ireland. Nowadays, this day it's celebrated all over the world, being one of the highlights of the festivities everywhere, so in Budapest we're not going to miss it out!!!

Conocido mundialmente por su buen ambiente colorido de verde y por la gran cantidad de pintas de Guiness, St Patrick's day es una festividad religiosa y cultural celebrada el 17 de Marzo. Fiesta de origen Irlandés, se llama St.Patrick en honor al sacerdote fundador de la Iglesia Irlandesa en el siglo V y Santo Patrón de Irlanda. Hoy en día, a pasado a ser una de las fiestas más importantes y conocidas en todo el muno, y Budapest no se la pierde!

Why do we dress in green? Por qué nos vestimos de verde?

The green refers to the trifoliate shamrock that St. Patrick used to explain the cocept of the Holy Trinity, and it became a symbol of Ireland. So if you want to be the pefect Leprechaun (famous creature in Irish mythology), you’ll need a green top hat, a green frock coat or waistcoat, green, red or black trousers and black shoes or boots (ginger facial hair is optional)...

El verde está relacionado con el trébol de tres hojas que St. Patrick usó para explicar el concepto de la Santísima Trinidad. Así que si quieres ser el duende perfecto (la más famosa criatura de la mitología irlandesa), necesitarás un sombrero de copa, una levita, chaleco o camiseta verde, pantalones negros, rojos o verdes y zapatos negros (la barba pelirroja es opcional)...

St Patrick's Parade 2012 in Budapest

The parade started at 2 p.m. from Szabadság square and arrived to Akvárium (ex-Gödör) in Erzsébet square within an hour. Once there, the irish athmosphere was great: music, dance, lots of funny Leprechauns, and plenty of green t-shirs, top-hats and Guiness beer!!!!

El desfile salió desde la plaza Szabadság sobre las 14.00h, llegando a Akvárium (ex-Gödör) en la plaza Erzsébet al cabo de una hora. Una vez ahí, el ambiente irlandés era genial: musica, bailes, un montón de duendes divertidos, y lleno de camisetas verdes, sombreros de copa y cerveza Guiness!!!!
